09/01/13 – SDC offering Valentine’s Evening of fine food, romantic poetry and music to raise money…

Die-hard romantics looking for something different to offer their partners over the Valentine’s Day period may want to consider an evening of fine food and entertainment with proceeds being donated to a local charity.

Valentine's Evening

Shropshire Drama Company (SDC) in conjunction with The Lion Hotel Shrewsbury is hosting a Valentine’s Evening on Friday 15 February at the hotel’s Hayward restaurant. Diners arriving to a champagne reception, followed by a three-course meal with vegetarian options, will be treated to a number of romantic poetry readings and live music throughout the evening from members of the company.

SDC member and event co-organiser Joanna Purslow said: “The Hayward restaurant at The Lion Hotel is a perfect setting for this kind of event. It is intimate enough for people wishing to enjoy a special evening together, yet big enough for us to entertain a discerning audience with a mixture of romantic and witty love poetry and music, as well as raise money for a worthy charity such as the Severn Hospice.”

Tickets for the Valentine’s Evening are £35 (£5 of which will be donated to Severn Hospice) and available to book through The Lion Hotel on 01743 353107 or online at www.wegottickets.com/event/201888 for which there will be a small booking fee. The event starts at 7pm on Friday 15 February.
