ONLINE TICKET SALES FIRST FOR WENLOCK FESTIVAL’S CENTREPIECE
The directors of this year’s showpiece Shakespeare production at Much Wenlock Festival are ‘Very excited’ at the launch this week of the new online booking system for purchasing tickets.
Sonia Knight and Ken Allden who are directing Shropshire Drama Company’s performance of All’s Well That Ends Well expect the new facility at www.muchwenlockfestival.co.uk will not only make it easier for people to book when they want to but also widen the catchment area from where they will attend.
Sonia Knight said: “This is great news for the Company and for the Festival as a whole. We are staging a lavish production this year which we hope will be seen by sell-out audiences every night. People don’t always have the time to book tickets through the traditional type of box office, so using the internet to make this easier whilst at the same time reach a wider audience is great. It’s all very exciting!”
All’s Well That Ends Well is a comedy of fascinating characters and scintillating wit. Helena cures the King of France, and in return is promised the hand any nobleman she wishes. The man she chooses, the Count of Rossillion, refuses to consummate the forced marriage and flees to Florence. She then sets to re-claim him with a single-minded determination.
Commenting on the play and rehearsal progress, Sonia continued: “It’s an engaging, thought-provoking and funny story and we expect audiences will have a lot of fun. We have a very talented group of people who are highly committed to the production. Everything is on schedule and I’m looking forward to the next series of rehearsals and planning leading up to the production in June.”
Tickets for All’s Well That Ends Well at Holy Trinity Church Green from 12 to 17 June are priced at £10 (£8 concessions) Monday to Thursday, £12 Friday (no concessions) and £14 Saturday (no concessions) and available through the website at www.muchwenlockfestival.co.uk .
