DRAMA GROUP SECURES SPONSOR
A Shropshire drama group has secured an exclusive sponsor, ahead of their summer production at this year’s Much Wenlock Festival.
Market Drayton based One Group UK Ltd, who offer independent financial help and advice to individuals and businesses about insurance, investment, mortgages, tax and business services including accountancy, bookkeeping and PAYE, have agreed to sponsor Shropshire County Drama Group (SCDG) for the foreseeable future.
SCDG’s most recent success was The Lion In Winter and prior to that last summer’s critically acclaimed rendition of Henry lV (Part One) which celebrated the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Shrewsbury. The bi annual Much Wenlock Festival will see the group’s second production of 2004 – the Shakespearean tragedy of justice, authority and reconciliation – King Lear.
James Ashman, CEO at One Group UK Ltd, said: “Sponsorship of a quality drama group, especially one with the calibre and reputation of SCDG fits well into our marketing strategy and may well develop into a long-term relationship. We wish them every success and look forward to seeing King Lear in June.”
Ken Allden, SCDG Secretary, said: “These are exciting times for us and securing a sponsor such as One Group will add real value to our productions.”
King Lear will be performed at the Much Wenlock Festival from Monday 14 June until Saturday 19 June 2004.
